A Community Engagement Guide
Our objective was to determine how council, government, and the development industry engage and consult with the community to present, refine, and approve new developments in order to achieve better outcomes. The consultation research was conducted over three stages, using focus groups and in-depth interviews, and proved conclusively that the current community consultation process is fundamentally flawed and requires innovative approaches from end to end. This guide is the result of that research and is intended to arm our members with actionable ideas to improve their community engagement approach and processes.
