The Institute’s Awards for Excellence is Queensland’s most respected and highly regarded industry programs. Each year, the Awards acknowledge projects that set a new benchmark in innovation and recognise developers who create inspiring places for Queenslanders to live, work, and play.

Created by the development industry

Launched in 1994, the Awards were created by the development industry as a vehicle to recognise excellence and innovation within our State. Year after year we receive feedback from the industry that receiving an Award is valued recognition for their work as well as an honour given the winners are chosen by their peers.

The program is unapologetically rigorous, taking eight months from launch through to the completion of judging. We take the role of receiving entries very seriously. Since the inception of the Awards, our judges have visited every site in person and reviewed the accompanying written submission. This rigorous process recognises the efforts of entrants as well as ensures a thorough assessment of the field.
