By listening directly to the thoughts, views, and fears of everyday Queenslanders, the work has fulfilled its aim of providing industry with the specific data and information needed to better engage the community in a true partnership model for incorporating sustainability and guiding development approaches. The qualitative research undertaken has advanced the industry’s understanding of critical issues like internal and external amenity preferences, the lifecycle of property buyers, perceptions of density, performance-based planning, and community engagement.
The group consists of members who are invited to serve as our ‘brains trust,’ whose expertise help ensure our research aligns with the business needs of our industry. With their guidance, we select two qualitative research projects per year. The broad insights collected help us inform events topics, our policy and advocacy work, and can later be released as a report or guide for our wider membership.
Our reports and guides are developed from the insights gained through the work of the Industry Leaders Research Group.
This guide is intended to arm our members with actionable ideas for how to improve their community engagement approach and processes, based on our three-stage qualitative research findings.
Building on the Being a Good Neighbour guide, this toolkit provides members with more detail about the structure, order, and content that should form part of any community engagement kit.
This guide summarises focus group research on community perceptions of sustainability, offering actionable ideas to address the sustainability knowledge gap and enhance communication of the benefits.
