Strategic Plan adopted
The Sunshine Coast Branch has finalised its Strategic Plan for 2020 with the planning scheme as its top policy agenda.
Key points:
- Branch’s Strategic Plan finalised
- Sets direction around advocacy priorities
The intent of the Strategic Plan is to set the branch’s direction around its advocacy priorities. Included in this plan is the branch’s priority support for the Light Rail/Mass Transit Project at a local and State Government level.
Sunshine Coast Branch President, Carl Nancarrow is looking forward to using the Strategic Plan to push the branch’s advocacy and seek to contribute positive outcomes for the development industry.
“The development industry is the second largest employer on the Coast and the second largest contributor to the Sunny Coast economy generating circa $4B to our regions Gross Regional Product. Being such a major contributor to our economy and employment, it is critical to the regions success that the development industry continues to remain sustainable into the long term. Our strategic plan promotes not only the interests of our industry and members but also our region’s economic future.
“It is important our branch sets out its priorities to develop and advance the industry prospects and boost economic growth in the region.”
The branch will continue to work with Sunshine Coast Council in realising the region’s potential. Forums such as the governance sub-committee’s Development Assessment forum will continue our collaboration with local government.
