The UDIA Queensland Board of Directors would like to thank Maria Dracakis and Brent Thompson for their service and contribution to the Institute, following their resignations from the Board.
Following his appointment to the Board in 2021, Brent chaired the Institute’s Brisbane Advisory Panel (and later acted as Board Sponsor of that same Panel), participated in numerous industry events, and provided input to policy submissions. Maria was first appointed in 2019 and served as the Chair, and later as the Board Sponsor, of the Institute’s Housing Supply and Affordability Committee, and was a judge for the Institute’s Diversity Awards.
Both Maria and Brent were considered contributors to Board discussions and have played an important role during their tenure of shaping the strategic direction of the Institute and advocacy positions on behalf of members. During their respective terms, both Maria and Brent passionately represented the interests of our industry, and importantly, the residents of our homes, places and spaces.
The Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Glen Maidment and Claire O’Rourke as Directors.
Claire O’Rourke is the Founder of Cohere Projects and has over 20 years of property development experience. She has delivered residential and mixed-use projects in Brisbane, Perth and London, which ranged in scale from $20m to $700m and received numerous awards. Claire holds tertiary qualifications in property economics and construction management.
Glen is the Managing Director of Maidment Property Group. Based in Townsville, Maidment Group is one of the largest fully integrated, privately-owned, property developers in North Queensland, with a diverse range of projects covering residential sub-division, new home construction, medium density residential development, commercial landscaping, real estate and mortgage brokering services.
The Board looks forward to working with Glen and Claire in their capacity as Company Directors to continue delivering value to members.
