Significant milestone reached with Logan City Council

The Logan Branch has marked a major milestone in securing agreement with Logan City Council to enter into a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) designed to achieve the highest standards of accountability and transparency.

The agreement establishes a pathway for members to raise concerns or recommendations through a joint working committee consisting of Council’s CEO and senior Council officers, the Institute’s Logan Branch President and Branch representatives.

This is a significant step in continuing a collaborative relationship with Council to promote the region and drive the delivery of new housing.

“The community places a high value on an open and transparent relationship between developers and councils. That’s why the Institute promotes these MOUs to councils across the State,” said Institute CEO Kirsty Chessher-Brown.

“Meeting that community expectation for high standards of integrity, makes delivering housing for the local community easier, especially against the backdrop of the current housing crisis, so it’s a great achievement for the Branch to have secure the new MOU,” she said.

The MOU will continue until the next Council election.
