Planning scheme review – we need your help
Fraser Coast Regional Council will be holding a workshop with key industry stakeholders to discuss ideas that should be considered as part of council’s review of the planning scheme.
The Institute welcomes council’s review of the planning scheme and their inclusion of industry groups such as ourselves in the process early to generate industry focused ideas aimed at delivering liveable communities.
We strongly urge members in the Fraser Coast branch attend this workshop on 7 October 2020 between 4:30pm to 6pm. To register your interest and have direct please register via email by September 30.
Council are in the early review process having completed stage one with a Demographic and Economic Trend Analysis. KPMG has been engaged by council to conduct this analysis reporting on the region’s current and future population, housing and economic trends to inform scenarios for the future of the region.
The demographic and economic data produced following a workshop attended by Branch President Megan Kraft in Stage 1 provided an evidence base to inform and facilitate discussion on the scope of the review. Stage 2 will involve the release of a discussion paper seeking feedback on the current planning scheme.
For COVID-19 planning purposes, we strongly urge members to register their interest by the end of the month.
