Fostering and growing the next generation of leaders

The Institute created PD for Leaders to provide opportunities for seasoned and aspiring leaders in the industry to gain valuable insights and opportunities to connect through a well-rounded mix of networking events, mentoring programs, and property development courses.

This year, there are three programs available suited for professionals at various stages in their careers:

  • Mentoring – young professionals in their early to mid-career
  • Emerging Leaders – young leaders looking to upskill
  • Established Leaders – established leaders looking to level-up

Mentoring Program

The Institute’s member-only Mentoring Program is designed to build industry connections and provide property industry career advice and support future leaders.

With two intakes per year, this is your opportunity to establish professional networks that you’ll use for years to come.

  • Applications for 2025 Intake 1 are now open. Applications close Friday 6 December 2024
  • Intake 1 runs from January to May 2025
  • Intake 2 runs from July to November 2025
  • Mentees can participate at a cost of $660 (including GST)

Who can apply?

The Mentoring Program is available to young property professionals in their early to mid-career from member companies of the UDIA Queensland.

Mentees who have previously completed the program are unable to apply or participate again.

Mentors and mentees are required to meet at least five times face-to-face over the five-month program.

Places are limited due to the popularity of the program.

For members who choose to become mentors, it is an opportunity to share your knowledge with the next generation of Queensland’s development industry.

Emerging Leaders Program

Our Emerging Leaders Program is designed to recognise and upskill young leaders in our industry. Targeted at young leaders wanting to accelerate their leadership skills, the program provides invaluable networking and professional development opportunities.

Open to only 15 members, this exclusive program brings together existing Institute initiatives and provides a way for organisations to supplement their own in-house training for future business leaders.

  • Program runs from January to December 2025
  • The cost for the UDIA Emerging Leaders Program 2025 is $2,915 (including GST)
  • Applications for the 2025 Emerging Leaders Program are now open.

The program includes the following:
  • Two (2) half-day intensive leadership sessions with external leading coaches from Creating Leaders
  • Lunch with a Leader ticket (2 events)
  • Attendance at three Emerging Leaders Forums
  • Recognition as a 2025 Emerging Leader
  • Networking with other Emerging Leaders
  • Coffee with a UDIA Queensland Leader (Life Member, Board Member, or other senior leader)
  • Two check-ins with a senior UDIA Queensland staff member (i.e. Director or CEO)
  • Opportunity to contribute to Institute content
  • One (1) ticket to National Congress Day 2

Established Leaders Program

The Established Leaders Program equips seasoned leaders with the strategic skills they need to enhance resiliency, solve problems, and drive innovation.

Members who participate in this exclusive program will gain invaluable access to mentoring and bespoke professional development sessions with leading business coaches, and networking opportunities with industry heavyweights. 

Available to only 10 members with a minimum of ten years work experience in the residential property sector, this program is designed to leave participants with the tools and knowledge they need to become better leaders.

  • Program runs from January to December 2025
  • The cost for the UDIA Queensland Established Leader program is $7,700 (including GST)
  • Applications for the 2025 Established Leaders Program are now open.

  • Year-long Mentor from the industry (CEO, Managing Director, Director level)
  • Two (2) day overnight off-site with leading business coaches from Creating Leaders
  • One day intensive leadership session with Creating Leaders
  • Two (2) x one (1) hour coaching sessions with leading business coaches from Creating Leaders
  • Belbin profile test
  • Lunch with a Leader ticket (2 events)
  • Brisbane Breakfast event ticket (1 event)
  • Attendance at three Established Leaders Forums
  • Networking with other Established Leaders
  • Coaching catch-up with a UDIA Queensland Leader (Life Member, Board Member or other senior leader)
  • Two check-ins with senior UDIA Queensland staff member (i.e. Director or CEO)
  • Recognition as a 2025 Established Leader
  • Opportunity to contribute to Institute content
