New landslide hazard mapping proposed
The City of Gold Coast has prepared new landslide hazard mapping for the city.
Key points:
- Check your sites – many more areas and properties included in landslide hazard overlay area
- New mapping covers existing urban growth and rural areas including low slope areas
It is proposed the mapping will be included and enforced through the city plan. The mapping covers existing urban growth areas and rural areas including low slope areas.
Council has endorsed the update to be submitted to the Minister, following this there will be opportunity for public submissions to be made on the proposed mapping changes.
The current landslide hazard overlay code and City Plan policy – geotechnical stability assessment guidelines remain unchanged.
Members are encouraged to assess the mapping changes with reference to their sites.
