Interest rate cut the hot topic
The Reserve Bank’s cut to interest rates and the extent to which it would impact the local development industry was a key topic of discussion at the March meeting of the Toowoomba Branch Executive.
The Institute’s list of bids to key Mayoral candidates was also discussed during a recap and review of the Branch’s preparations for both the local election, as well as the Branch’s plans to engage with any new key Chairs or Councillors who are installed after the result is declared.
The new discounted pass for regional members to attend the Developers Conference was also discussed. This pass was created following the Branch President’s Annual Meeting where the regional leadership team discussed ways to make the conference more affordable for regional members.
It works similarly to a Corporate Pass, but instead of requiring all attendees to be from the same company, members just need to team up with other members from the same Branch to access to deal.
