Institute raises access to adequate land supply at council briefing
The Institute’s Moreton Bay Branch President, Keith Cairns was invited to council’s briefing on its Regional Economic Development Strategy. The strategy will set council’s direction for the next few years.
The briefing and workshop hosted a number of industry leaders and professionals providing input and perspective on where the region should situate itself over the course of the strategy but also how the region could further invest.
Access to adequate land supply was one of the top items raised by our Moreton Bay Branch President in order to advance the industry’s employment contribution to the region. The Institute highlighted the significant contribution the development and construction industry have in the region, which accounts for 10.5 percent of the local employment, providing 11,328 direct jobs and a further 14,158 in direct jobs.
Moreton Bay Regional Council will continue this dialogue with the Institute allowing for future opportunities in their future Regional Economic Development Strategy.
