Sunshine Coast Balancing Growth and Liveability: 2032 and Beyond

Join us for lunch on 26 November to explore how we can meet the housing needs of a burgeoning population while ensuring long-term benefits from infrastructure investments.

With the Sunshine Coast expected to accommodate an additional 219,000 residents by 2046 under ShapingSEQ, we’ll explore the strategies and infrastructure needed to support a growing population while preserving the unique lifestyle that defines our region.

Kate Meyrick from Urbis, will share her recent assessment of the region’s liveability, including how to strike the perfect balance between accommodating new growth and preserving the enviable lifestyle that makes the Sunshine Coast unique.

Brisbane City Council’s Steve Hammer will provide insight into his work on the Brisbane Metro, sharing why this method of transport was chosen and his experience with its delivery. He’ll discuss how these insights can guide the Sunshine Coast’s infrastructure development and the important role transport plays in supporting the population growth and sustaining the regions’ liveability.
