Development.i, construction condition hotline, and fee changes
Brisbane City Council now provides mapping of development applications building on previous PD online information. It is also possible to register for notification of applications being made in a particular location.
Development.i can be found here.
Council’s new Building and Construction Hotline 133 PLAN (133 7526) can be used to get prompt advice during the construction phase of your project. The hotline can help clarify the intended outcomes of approval conditions and provide advice if your project does not meet a condition.
Brisbane City Council says the newly formed Building and Construction Management Team (BCMT) can help minimise red tape and avoid delays during construction. BCMT also works across the CBD and suburbs with the aim of ensuring a streamlined endorsement of survey plans once the development is finalised.
The period of free lodgement fees for ‘open door’ pre-lodgement meetings and domestic development ends on 30 September 2020. From 1 October 2020, ‘open door’ pre-lodgement meetings (maximum 3 issue pre-lodgement) and domestic development fees (including houses and homes applications) will be discounted by 50% until 31 December 2020. Further information is available here.
