Consultation open on Kangaroo Point Green Bridge
Consultation is underway on the reference design for the Kangaroo Point Green Bridge. The preliminary business case confirmed the proposed project is a feasible, value-for-money investment that will deliver lasting benefits for Brisbane City.
The bridge will connect to the city’s existing walking, cycling, and public transport networks, reducing congestion on the local ferry, bus, and road networks. The bridge will result in 83,950 fewer car trips over river crossings per year. Starting in late 2021 and completing in 2023 the pedestrian bridge is forecast to accommodate 6,150 walking and cycling trips per day.
The Breakfast Creek Green Bridge will connect Kingsford Smith Drive upgrade, to Newstead House. Concept designs have been prepared. Procurement is to commence in late 2020 with project completion by the end of 2023.
