Street design manual: walkable neighbourhoods
Aligning with the Queensland Government’s introduction of the Healthy and active communities mandatory provisions, the Street Design Manual: Walkable Neighbourhoods is live and available for members to support planning for and delivering walkable neighbourhoods.
Street Design Manual: Walkable Neighbourhoods prepared by the Institute of Public Works Engineering Australasia Queensland (IPWEAQ) is purposed with providing technical guidance to local governments and the property development industry around a more coordinated approach to neighbourhood design.
Gold Coast Logan Committee member, Sean Sandford has been involved directly in informing and developing the manual representing the Institute on IPWEAQ’s Steering Committee alongside other industry professionals.
The Institute’s Infrastructure Committee and Housing Supply and Affordability Panel were also heavily involved in the submission during the consultation of the draft manual.
We take this opportunity to thank Sean Sandford for generously donating his time, expertise and resources in ensuring the views of our members were represented on the Steering Committee. We also thank our members directly involved in the drafting of the submission made to IPWEAQ.
